WHAT YEAR IS IT?

The Return of our childhood movies

For many movie lovers, the simple titles of Star Wars, Jurassic Park and Terminator represent just some of the best sci-fi movies ever made. Real jewels in the movie history.

One made us want to join the Rebellion to fight the evil Empire wielding a lightsaber and using the Force, where space was a war zone. Other made us love, fear and be fasciniting of the mighty reptiles. The last one scared the sh*t out of us because of an almost indestructible metal cyborg trying to exterminate the protagonist.

And just by knowing that in 2015 would be realesed Star Wars VII, Jurassic Park IV and Terminator 5, it gave us an heart attack… and an orgasm. For real.

Under the names of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Jurassic World, and Terminator: Genisys, their promotional trailers promise they will be awesome and give more glory to their respective franchises. Return to the cinemas and feel that thrill of watching the movie title in the big screen is just beautiful and priceless.

The last questions are: Will they be good? Will they be as good as their predecessors were? Will they worth my movies? I’d like to response that yes they will, but of course, I can’t ensure anything yet.

So, reserve your movie tickets and see you there in the cinema.

A Clockwork Orange

Spoiler Alert

A Clockwork Orange is one of the most influential films of the American film-maker and director Stanley Kubrick.

Released in 1971 this film isn´t only known for its disturbing images, the Beethoven music, a dystopian future, juvenile delinquency, youth gangs, and nazi references but for its approach and view over human psychology.

This film takes place on a dystopian futuristic Britain where young Alex DeLarge and his “droogs” like to meet at the Korova milk-bar enjoying the sense sharpening Moloko Vellocet Milk.

Alex and his droogs like to get out to the streets on Midnight and draw upon the so called “Ultraviolence” reaching the point of beating old-hobo people and fighting against other Young gangs.

Alex is a huge fan of Beethoven’s music, specially the Ninth Symphony. Whilst listening to his music, Alex picture such heartwarming images in his mind.
But Alex’s lifestyle couldn’t persist forever; Alex is captured by the police and recluded at the prison. After a while, he volunteers to a brand new- inovating reformatory system “The Ludovico Technique”

The treatment consist basically of the projection of ultraviolence, attempting of rape and WW2 films starring with Hitler and his SS troops.
This doesn´t  seem to affect Alex at all, but he realizes the background music: The Ninth Symphony.

This traumatic experience would affect Alex for all his life, depriving him of comit any sex or violence act even when Alex its in real danger.

Young Alex mind would never be the same again. The lone fact of seeing or trying to comit any “violent” act or listening to any Beethoven song would cause him a devastating pain and nausea.
His freewill could be gone forever, his loved ones would never see him with the same eyes again.
His conscious and unconscious mind was altered, and his freedom (although his past violence and sexual crimes),  anyways  it was completely corrupted.

A short analysis (not review) that may contain spoilers from the film

Goal-line technology

Goal-line technology

FIFA have made many mistakes about leaving aside the technology to help referees to have a fairer game.

The goal-line technology debate began picking up steam in 2005 after Tottenham midfielder Pedro Mendes was denied a game-winning goal against Manchester United. The United keeper, Roy Carroll, misplayed the shot from 50 yards out, allowing the ball to cross over the goal line. However, Carroll was able to pull the ball back over the line before a referee or assistant was able to position himself to make the correct call. This incident, known as the “phantom goal” brought to light the inability of the referees and linesman to make calls when out of position.

The incident sparked rising support in the implementation of goal-line technology, even among referees. Shortly after the incident, Referee Chief Keith Hackett put forth a proposal for the use of goal-line technology. The International Football Association Board agreed to begin testing of the technology in the 2005 U-17 World Championships.

GoalControl’s system utilizes 14 high-speed cameras – 7 on each goal – that take full-frame, full-color images at a rate of 500 photos/minute. If the ball crosses the goal line, a vibrational and visual signal is sent to each match official’s watch with 1 second. While this is all very impressive, GoalControl only guarantees 3 cm of accuracy. For extremely close-call goals, this may not be enough.

GoalControl is estimated to cost $260,000 us dollar per stadium and an addition $3,900 per game. This isn’t pocket change, and for teams under financial pressure, GLT might not be an option.

But in my opinion, I think this kind of technology is necessary, no matter if it costs so much money, because this kind of decision can be very hard, per example, in a soccer match, 2 teams play to pass to other division league, when it is 93 minutes and one team score but the ball never passed complete; the other team would be very upset and won´t be in the other division per one mistake, and when a team increase of division, they receive extra money. So this kind of mistakes cost so much than the technology.

Google changing lives

Importance of Google
Google has been the most important web page in the internet for a lot of years now, it has been a very important page because it is a browser, a page that you can use to find anything you are looking for in the internet. If you want to find some information about something, you can find it on Google, if you want to find some videos about something, you can find it on Google, or simply if you want to find the news of your city, you can find them on Google.
It is true that Google is not the only browser in all the internet, but it is at least the most known web page in all the world. It was also the first browser that became popular, that made Google more important and got more people to use it compared to the other pages.
Nowadays, Google Is not only a web page to find information or some other web page, Google also owns other pages like YouTube, that is the most famous web page to see videos from other people, famous people or random people, anyone can upload a video to YouTube and  everybody can see it.
It has been growing a lot through the years, it has its own explorer, it is called Chrome, and it is much better than internet explorer from Microsoft, which is extremely slow. Google owns its own operative system for the cell phones called android, a direct competition to the ios from apple and its iPhone. A difference there, is that android is on a lot of important cell phones companies, such as Sony Xperia, Samsung, Motorola and some others.
Google has revolutionized the world an innovated the internet and the technology of the world, who knows what could have happen without Google, maybe some other browser did the same things, maybe we wouldn’t have any kind of browser in the internet, maybe we would still be using internet explorer. We will never know.
This is a video to show the power of Google, it is an example of how people can change the world.
But, is that world going to be better with Google?
Maybe yes, or maybe no...

Mexican cinema nowadays (and ever)

Cinema was invented more than a century ago at the capital of the culture by the Lumiere brothers, the idea of a having a live image (motion picture) amazed millions and it became an instant hit, this fabulous new invention arrived to America almost a year after it debuted in Europe. Mexico was the first country of the occidental world to recieve the cinema, and Porfirio Diaz was the first mexican ever to watch a movie for the first time.

More than a hundred years have passed, and the invection of the motion picture has evolve to what it is today, one of the biggest industries worldwide, but a movie its way more than a motion picture, more than a buisness, its even more than just entertainment, a movie is the only human way to control and manipulate time and space, an oportunity to create, innovate, inspire and even educate, no for nothing it is called the seventh art.
It looks like in Mexico millions lack of cinema culture, it only a few mexican films manage to appear at the mainstreams movie theaters, and most of these films are bad production, in a cheap soap opera format with the only porpuse of making money, it seems that we do not have quality movies.
But we do, we absolutly certainly do, if we take a look at the best movie festivals most of the times a mexican movie is being proyected and winning an award. Even though cinema has no barriers the fact that we have different countries its the reason why movies around the world are so different, thats one of the things i love the most about them.

Why would you eat trash when you have a stake?, why would you whatch a crappy action movie when you have The Salt of the Earth?, if you are gonna spend 2 hours of your life sitting motionless in a chair, make it work it, because the only the thing better than movies, is life itself.
